Call
Answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If it is something urgent — a horizontal crack, a wall that has visibly moved, water actively entering a crawlspace — call rather than emailing.
info@foundationrepairflagstaff.com
Photos help a great deal. If you can send a picture of the crack with something for scale next to it — a coin, a tape measure, a pen — plus a wider shot showing where it sits on the building, we can often tell you a fair amount before we ever arrive.
What to expect from a free estimate
- We ask questions on the phone. What you are seeing, how long it has been there, whether it has changed, and what the outside of the house looks like.
- We come out and measure. Elevation readings across the floor plan, crack widths recorded at both ends, a walk around the exterior looking at grade, downspouts and drainage, and the crawlspace if there is one.
- We tell you what we found. Including when the answer is that nothing structural is wrong.
- If work is needed, you get it in writing. Scope and price, before anything starts. For structural work we will recommend an independent engineer.
Estimates are free and there is no travel charge anywhere in Coconino County or the Verde Valley communities we serve.
Useful things to have ready
- Roughly when the house was built.
- Whether it is slab, crawlspace, or a manufactured home on a permanent foundation.
- When you first noticed the problem and whether it has changed since.
- Any previous repairs, and whether the problem came back.
- Whether you have well and septic, and where the leach field is.
- Where you pile snow in the winter. People are surprised how often this is the answer.

Before you hire anyone, including us
Check the license. Arizona's Registrar of Contractors lets you look up any contractor's license status, classification and complaint history free at roc.az.gov, and it takes about ninety seconds. It also matters financially: Arizona's Residential Contractors' Recovery Fund can reimburse a homeowner up to $30,000 per residence for defective work, but only when the contractor held a license.
What we will ask you on the phone
A few minutes of questions before we drive out makes the visit much more productive. Expect roughly these:
- What are you seeing, and where on the building is it?
- When did you first notice it, and has it changed since?
- Is anything sticking — doors, windows — and if so, which ones?
- What does the ground do around the outside of the house?
- Has anyone looked at it before, and what did they say?
None of this is a sales script. It is how we decide what to bring and roughly what we are walking into.
Second opinions
If another company has already quoted you, we will look at it and tell you honestly what we think, at no charge and with no obligation. Bring their written scope so we are evaluating the same thing rather than guessing at it. Foundation work is expensive enough that a second look is simply good sense, and we would rather be the second opinion that confirms a fair quote than not be called at all.
